Call for New Board Administrators
January 20, 2023
Youth Group Corner – Valletta (April to June 2023)
June 22, 2023

The project team at Programm Tbissima continued to deliver weekly sessions to the children and youth attending every Friday at San Gorg Preca Primary School in Marsa. Each month, they focus on a particular theme.

January – New Beginnings

Most of the sessions circled around reflecting on what the children and youth are grateful for, and setting new goals for the coming year. These were done through various activities planned by the project team, such as role play as well as creating a Vision board with the psychotherapist.

One of the highlights during this month was a session about Digital art and VR (Virtual Reality). The session was facilitated by digital artists and visual reality creators. Each youth had the opportunity to try both digital art and VR during the session.

February – Carnival

The sessions during this month took snippets from the Carnival traditions, such as creating colourful masks and cooking the traditional Maltese carnival sweet, Prinjolata, and combining them with a deeper reflection. The children and youth discussed topics such as self-esteem and self-confidence as well as creative expression through various games and activities.

March – Gender Equality

During the sessions the team together with the children and youth, discussed Gender and Equality in different activities. The children had a discussion about being a girl and being a boy, they watched toy advertisements to see how the media creates gender roles. They had the opportunity to create gender-neutral advertisements and did role-play activities.

On the 8th of March, the children and youth had a discussion related to International Women’s day and why it is important today.

Programm Tbissima is a project led by The Malta Trust Foundation in collaboration with Right to Smile Foundation.
