Youth Group Corner – October to December 2025

Hey everyone! As we wrap up the final months of 2025, we are excited to share what the Right 2 Smile Youth Group has been up to. From creative sessions and community celebrations to meaningful outreach and a brand-new intergenerational project, these months have been full of connection!

Youth Group Sessions 💬

Our weekly youth group sessions continued to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging space for young people to learn, reflect, and have fun together.

One of the highlights was a creative and inventive session led by our youth worker. Young people and mentors worked in teams to transform everyday objects into imaginative inventions. The session encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and thinking outside the box, with plenty of laughter and creativity along the way. 💡

We also welcomed Stacey, a Youth and Community Studies student, who delivered an interactive session titled “About Myself and Knowing Ourselves”. Through open discussions and activities, participants explored their strengths, values, and personal identities, fostering self-awareness and confidence in a supportive environment 🌿

Another important milestone was welcoming Kyle, our new psychotherapist. Kyle facilitated a meaningful psychotherapy session where young people explored the rules and values of the youth group, helping strengthen trust, respect, and a sense of belonging within the group. 🧠

In addition, our youth participated in an awareness session led by Victim Support Malta, where a professional shared valuable information about safety, understanding personal boundaries, and knowing where to seek help when needed. We are grateful for their support in empowering our young people with knowledge and awareness. 🛡️

To balance learning with fun, the group enjoyed an outing to the Malta National Aquarium 🐟. This educational trip gave participants the chance to learn about marine life while spending quality time together outside the usual setting.

And of course, we could not forget our Halloween Party 👻! The night was filled with games, snacks, spooky decorations, and lots of laughter. A big thank you to everyone who joined and helped make it such a fun and memorable evening. 🎃

Community Events 💚

Connecting with the wider community remains a key part of our work. During these months, Right 2 Smile participated in Festa Familja, organised by the Santa Luċija Local Council. Our Activities Coordinator had the opportunity to meet families and community members, share information about Right 2 Smile’s work, and strengthen our presence within the local community. 💚

VME Coop Intergenerational Project 🧵✨

We are proud to share that our project “Threads of Time: An Intergenerational Skills Exchange” was selected for funding by VME Coop’s Community Sponsorship Initiative and officially launched during this period.

This project brings together young people and senior citizens to exchange skills, stories, and experiences, ranging from traditional crafts to digital know-how, creating meaningful connections across generations.

One of the highlights was the creation and sharing of beautiful Christmas decorations with the wonderful Santa Luċija community 🎄. This festive activity celebrated creativity, collaboration, and togetherness, truly capturing the spirit of the season.

This initiative forms part of the Threads of Time: An Intergenerational Project, funded by VME Coop, and this specific activity was made possible with the support of the Parliamentary Secretariat for Local Government, the Local Government Division, Santa Luċija Local Council, and Active Ageing and Community Care. We are deeply thankful to everyone involved.
