The Right 2 Smile Youth Group had an incredible experience at the Natalis Notabilis Christmas Market in Rabat on Wednesday, 11th December. Our stand was buzzing with activity as visitors stopped by to buy and enjoy our delicious treats, explore our unique merchandise, and connect with our amazing members and volunteers. We were thrilled to share our work and spread the Right 2 Smile spirit with everyone who joined us. Thank you to all who stopped by and made it a successful evening! 🌟

An honourable mention to our mentors who participated in the R2S Annual get-together in Santa Lucija especially to Bernice, who spoke about her experience in the years she has been a mentor, and to Sue and Cheyenne, who both won an award for all their voluntary efforts and big contributions to the youth group. 😊

The Midwal Project is a community project which aims to empower local citizens of Santa Lucija to construct a creative archive revolving around the cultural and historical legacy of this small locality. The project takes the form of a collective joint venture between Santa Lucija Local Council, Active Ageing, Right 2 Smile, and the college of St. Thomas More Secondary School situated in the same village. The R2S Youth Group has already started and will be having more sessions with 2 artists to explore various art forms that can shed more light on Santa Lucija.

A draft plan for the Youth Group for 2025 is set and it includes an outreach plan, being taken care of by our Outreach and Social Media Coordinator. This includes increasing outreach and detached youth work in local neighborhoods and schools, as well as resurfacing the Youth Group Facebook page. We will also be having monthly sessions with the Psychotherapy team and quarterly training sessions for the mentors.
The Youth Programme of Right to Smile is supported by Aġenzija Żgħażagħ through the INVEST Operational Grant 2023-2025.
