As we bid farewell to 2023, we’re thrilled to remember the impactful strides Right 2 Smile has made across the globe, from the new partnership in Ghana to the projects of Kenya, Malta, and Cambodia.
In the course of this year, we achieved a successful transition in our board of administration. Through this pivotal process, we are securing the continuous sustainability of Right 2 Smile, underscoring our commitment to serving as a platform for volunteers to actively contribute to youth and community initiatives.
Furthermore, we take pride in the launch of our inaugural Erasmus+ Youth Exchange Program, a venture that empowers youth through international collaboration and cultural exchange, with the inaugural program taking place in Herencia, Spain.
In Kenya, our commitment to education materialized in the refurbishment of Olasiti School, creating a conducive learning environment for students. Four local staff members are employed, fostering a stronger bond with the community. Daily nutritious meals were provided for 300 students, and enriching outings were organized for 250 students. Embracing sustainability, our Green Initiative took root, contributing to a greener and more eco-conscious young generation in Olasiti.
Our collaboration with NFO in Cambodia reached over 400 students through Non-Formal Education. We improved infrastructure with classroom refurbishments and provided essential resources to enhance the learning environment. Additionally, we supported the health and well-being of educators by assisting one of our educators with medical bills.
In Ghana, our three-week volunteer program aimed to set up impactful initiatives with new partners, Ihelp Africa. Despite delays due to COVID, the placement was positive, with volunteers making a meaningful impact on education, health, and outreach. Challenges in planning and organization were acknowledged, highlighting the importance of on-site visits before volunteer arrivals.
As we look forward, Right 2 Smile is poised for a new chapter guided by a comprehensive strategy with clear collective objectives. In 2024/25, we are committed to enhancing communication, strengthening training capacity for volunteers and staff, and, notably, completing the Olasiti Primary School project initiated in 2011. This strategic vision underscores our dedication to sustainable development and lasting positive change.
Every day, you, our supporters, partners, and volunteers, continue to make a difference. You foster a sense of community, build bridges, raise your voices, and advocate for change to create the equitable and just world we all aspire to see.
In order to succeed and continue to grow this community, we need your participation. Your support, engagement, and commitment are vital as we navigate new challenges and opportunities in the coming year.
Wishing you all a safe holiday season and a year ahead filled with continued growth, compassion, and positive change.
